Table Clinic and Poster Presentation

Guidelines for Abstracts

Posters should be a research/clinical science article or a clinical report (includes clinic technique).


Title. Concise and informative (Maximum 12 words). Avoid abbreviations, formulae, and trade names. Capitalize only the first letter of the first word. 


Author names. Author's names MUST include first and last names. Credentials MUST be indicated after names and separated by a comma (,). Author's names MUST be separated by a semicolon (;). Example: John Doe, DDS, MS; Melisa Hanson, DMD, PhD; John Smith, BDS, MS.


Abstract: Please provide an abstract with the following: 

     Purpose/Aim (max. 25 words), 

     Materials & Methods (max. 300 words), 

     Results (max. 50 words), and 

     Conclusions(max. 25 words). 


 The abstract should contain enough detail to describe the experimental design and variables. Sample size, controls, method of measurement, standardization, examiner reliability, and statistical method used with an associated level of significance should be described in the Material and Methods section. Actual values should be provided in the Results section.


 For clinical reports, the clinical procedure should be considered as methods and materials; the treatment outcome should be considered as the results; the prognosis of the treatment and advantages of the technique used to treat the patient should be considered as the conclusion.

Guidelines for Table Clinic Poster Presentations

Poster Dimension/Requirements: 

  •  Landscape; 36” x 48” (H x W) – size of tri-fold provided; No wider than 60”.
  •  Font size: No smaller than 24 font size.
  •  Photos and diagrams are highly recommended and should be clear with proper pixilation for good visual appearance. 

  Posters will be on tables (6 ft long). 

  Tri-fold poster boards will be provided UPON REQUEST (36in tall x 48 in wide). 

        Please let us know if you will need a tri-fold poster board to support your poster.

        You are welcome to bring your own poster supports. 


Poster Presentation:

  Presenters must be attendees of the dental conference and will present at designated times during     

       the Table Clinic Session of the conference.

  • 5-7 minute presentation followed by a 2-4 minute Q&A.
  • Presenter must be ready to present at designated times.

Judging

  • Posters will be evaluated by pre-determined judges and awards will be provided for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
